Carly Clark: Birthday Guidelines

In an effort to celebrate each child’s birthday, they will be recognized on their actual day.  If your child’s birthday falls on a weekend, they will be recognized on the Friday before or Monday after the actual day (whichever is the closest).   All summer birthdays that fall outside of the school calendar are celebrated the last week of school in June.

Birthdays are announced during the morning building announcements and the child is invited to the office to receive a gift (a book) from the PTA.  In addition, as a class, we will sing Happy Birthday to the student, have them wear a Birthday Hat, and I will give each of them a small gift (bookmark, pencil, etc.).

The school district’s health and academic guidelines encourages that we keep the amount of sweets and non-educational gatherings to a limit.  Due to these guidelines, we will have a monthly Birthday Party for all students that have their birthday in that particular month.  Each month, I will send home a note to parents whose children have a birthday that month.  The note will identify the date of the monthly Birthday Party; as well as, a food or paper item that each participating parent can supply for the party.  If you do not wish to contribute to the birthday celebrations please let me know in advance, so that I can make other arrangements, as you are not obligated to supply anything.

Thank you for your cooperation and please do not hesitate to call or email with questions or concerns.
