Information about Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)
The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) emerged from China in late December of 2019. While information regarding this virus is abundant, the following links may be of value in providing information about the disease itself, current action being taken in our local area and state, as well as ways to be vigilant in stopping the spread of COVID-19. Pennsylvania will begin to slowly reopen in phases during the month of May. Tioga County is one of 28 counties that will enter the “Yellow Phase” on May 8th. While there will be some easing of restrictions on work and small social gatherings, many guidelines will stay in place. For current updates on case counts in Tioga county and across the state, please visit the PA Department of Health link below. COVID-19 cases have been reported in the Tioga County region. This should not be cause for undue alarm, but rather cause for continued vigilence in practicing social distancing and good hygiene. The following is a link to the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America. While these guidelines were initially to be followed for 15 days, it is now recommended that they are followed April 30, 2020 to prevent further spread of this virus.
