High School Principal - Wellsboro Area School District

The Wellsboro Area School District is seeking an innovative, student-centered High School Principal to lead Wellsboro Area High School, serving 500 students in grades 9-12 and 60 faculty and staff. Our High School offers a variety of educational opportunities such as CTE programs, Dual Enrollment courses as well as athletics, art, and music.

Located in the beautiful, rural community of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania - home of the PA Grand Canyon - our district takes pride in its strong academic traditions, dedicated staff, and supportive community. We are seeking a dynamic educational leader with exceptional communication and organizational skills and the ability to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment, promote student achievement, and build positive relationships among students, staff, and families.

Job Summary:

The High School Principal provides leadership in the areas of instruction, professional development for teachers and staff, planning daily operations, and ensuring a safe environment conducive to teaching and learning to promote the mission and vision of the district's comprehensive plan.

Qualifications: Pennsylvania Principal Certification (or eligibility)

Educational Interpreter

The Wellsboro Area School District is accepting applications for a full-time Educational Interpreter. Must be able to provide students who are deaf or hard of hearing with interpreting or transliterating services in an educational setting.  To serve as an educational interpreter, you must meet the following qualifications:

          ●        GED/High School Diploma required; Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred;

          ●        Evidence of graduation from an interpreter training program or  relevant experience;

          ●        Ability to interpret/transliterate at a normal conversational rate in Signed English, PSE and/or ASL;

          ●        Ability to recognize students’ receptive and expressive language  abilities and adjust interpretive language level accordingly;

          Scheduled work days following the District’s 2025-26 School Calendar.  Competitive wages and benefits package.
