Hello! I am a 2001 graduate of Wellsboro High School and have been teaching English in the Wellsboro Area School District since 2008. Prior to beginning my career in education, I received my B.A. in English with a concentration in Pre-law and a minor in World Religions from Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. Following my graduation from college, I worked in sales and marketing for a year before returning to Mansfield University to obtain my teaching certification. I received my M.Ed. from Mansfield University in 2011 in School Library and Information Technology. I am currently pursuing my second M.Ed. in Online Learning from Wilkes University.
For the first 11 years of my teaching career, I taught at Wellsboro High School. While there, I taught 9 World English, 9 Honors English, SAT Prep, Journalism/Yearbook and AP English Literature and Composition. I have also taught several courses in the Wellsboro Online Academy. I am very excited to be teaching 8th grade this year! I taught middle school for my student teaching assignment as well as a half a year at North Penn High School in Blossburg, and have always loved the middle school age group.
In my free time, I like to read, entertain my kids (Luke, 9 and Leah, 6 – and no, I have NEVER seen a Star Wars movie!), and run (I love to compete in races from the 5K to half marathon distances). In answer to my most asked question – my last name is pronounced “SEN – a – see” – rhymes with Tennessee!
