Bienvenue à la classe de français!
Welcome to English class!
I studied French at Eastern University (St. Davids, PA) and l’Université Marc Bloch (Strasbourg, France). While at Eastern, I also earned a minor in Spanish. I finished my Masters Degree in Multicultural Education and Teaching English as Second Language in 2013.
In July 2014, the French Embassy granted me the opportunity to study French pedagogy in Besançon, France with French teachers from every corner of the world. This past summer, I worked as a Program Leader for four weeks in Toulouse, France with CIEE. I learned a lot from collaborating with the French teachers in that program.
I am a proud and active member of both AATF (American Association of Teachers of French) and NNSTOY-PA (Pennsylvania’s chapter of the National Network of State Teachers of the Year). Membership to the latter was awarded when I was named a 2018 PA Teacher of the Year finalist.
This year, all French I and II students will be corresponding with students from Dakar, Sénégal. This will be facilitated by an organization called “Global 1 to 1.” For more information, check out their website: https://www.global1to1.org/
Additionally, all French III and French IV students will have the opportunity to continue our correspondence with Rick Groult’s English students in Normandy, France (http://lycee-anguier.fr/) and Roxane Nirenberg’s students in Brussels, Belgium. (http://www.amyourcenar.be/)
