Hello, my name is Mrs. Kozuhowski. Students call me Mrs.K. This is my 14th year as an art instructor at the Wellsboro High School.
Prior to the Wellsboro Area High School, I was a dialysis technician in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. When first arriving to Tioga County about 30 years ago, I transitioned into a phlebotamist position at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital and also at Partners In Progress as a casemanager in Wellsboro. I also worked for 10 years at Tioga County Human Services Agency as their casemanager for residential treatment juveniles.
Several long term art substitute positions in many neighboring districts, including Coudersport, have occuppied my time. I taught art to all the children at Trinity Lutheran when my 2 youngest children were in preschool there. I was a TSS (therapeutic Staff Support) through Concern Professionals at the Don Gill and Charlotte Lappla Elementary Schools prior to working at the high school level. Since then, my husband and I bought and rescued a building from being demolished and turned it into a family business. You may have heard of it, the Wellsboro House Restaurant and Brewery! Don’t let the name fool you! I often see my students stop by with their families and I always stop to say Hello if I am there.
I have a Bachelors and a Masters in art education. Some of the schools I have attended are Kutztown University, Mansfield University, Holy Family University and University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Currently I teach the following art classes at the high school level:
Introduction to Art
Drawing and Painting
Advanced Drawing and Painting
Color and Design (includes 9 weeks of ceramics)
Independent Study of Art
Community Service Art Projects (incorporated into upper grade classes)
Please feel free to call me at the high school if you ever have a concern about your child in my classroom. I would be happy to help in any way to make your child’s educational experience a happy and successful one!
Best Hours for Contact.
