My name is Laura Lightner. I have been teaching for the past 15 years. I graduated from Lock University with a dual certification in elementary and special education in 2003. I received my master’s in education from Mansfield University in the spring of 2008. I began my teaching career teaching early intervention for IU 17. I later taught Life Skills at Rock L Butler Middle School. I transferred to a k/1 position in the fall of 2006. I have been teaching k/1 ever since.
I live in Covington with my husband and three girls. We enjoy farming as a family. This includes raising our own meat from cows, pigs, and chickens, as well as, raising honey bees and making maple syrup. When we are not farming we are very busy with dance and sports. I love watching my girls on the stage and any ball field or court.
