As a parent of a student who attends a school district receiving Title 1 funds, you have the right under federal law to request information about the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers who instruct your child and the paraprofessionals who assist them. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 gives you the right to request information as to whether the teacher is certified or qualified to teach the grades and/or subjects he or she teaches.
It has been standard policy in the Wellsboro Area School District to employ qualified, licensed professional staff whenever possible. If you have any questions or would like to review any information, please contact in writing, the principal of the building in which your child attends.
