The WASD would like to thank Broad Acres for the generous donation of a Hoyer Lift to the new Health Occupations Program at Wellsboro Area High School. The Hoyer Lift will be used in the Health Occupations classes to teach how to appropriately use the lift with patients. Mr. Brandon Dresser has been an active participant in the WASD Occupational Advisory Committee advocating for course work in health occupations.
The newly added program of study is designed to: prepare students for entering into a health profession, connect them to careers of interest in health care and the many pathways that exist, and to help meet the critical employment needs that exist locally, statewide and across the nation.
