On August 28, 2023, all WASD teachers and staff participated in professional learning to build an understanding of the universality of trauma, the groundbreaking ACE study, and the impact of trauma on child development. Teachers and staff explored practical interventions that can be implemented to regulate the brain and reduce potential triggers. An emphasis was on the brain's plasticity and the healing power of nurturing relationships.
