Disability Awareness in Health Occupations

The WAHS Health Occupations Program participated in training lead by Ms. Meg Ralston from the BLaST IU#17.

What are some health occupations students saying about the training?

"The simulations really helped us understand what it is like to have a disability and that we did the activities for a few minutes- when this is an individual's whole day and life."

"When someone has dyslexia, or something like dyslexia- they don't have any basis for what writing should look like. The activity helps me have awareness how difficult it can be to write."

"The awareness training teaches me to have empathy."

I'm want to go into pediatric occupational therapy, and the training helps me build awareness.
