RLBMS 6th graders are hands-on scientists today! In science class, students are investigating how air pressure works using a “pressure in a jar” indicator. They’re observing changes, recording data, and making real-world connections to the science of weather and everyday life.

Students in Third Grade went on their first field trip on Friday to Leonard Harrison State Park. While there, students engaged in many activities and team building challenges such as a scavenger hunt and building beaver dams. They also learned about different landmarks and features throughout the park. This trip allowed the students a hands on experience to further assist them in answering that week’s ELA essential question: How do landmarks help us understand our country’s story? It also reinforced the theme of protecting our nation’s parks and wildlife.

A huge thank you to our students and staff for dressing to impress and handling today’s interruptions with such patience. We wrapped up in record time, and the photographer shared that he’s never seen a more efficient, organized school with such well-behaved students—and he’s been doing this for a very long time!

It’s always wonderful to hear such positive compliments about our school community. 💚

Students at the Charlotte Lappla celebrated Nutrition for Life for the past three days. This event encourages students to try out school lunch for FREE, thanks to the generous donations from the Nutrition Group’s food vendor partners. Congratulations to Mrs. Lightner’s class for the highest overall participation in the event. They will enjoy a pizza party with Mr. Kyle.
