Kindergarten read the fiction book Acorn Was A Little Wild and the nonfiction book Acorns To Oak Trees, discussed the difference between fiction and nonfiction books and made handprint acorns during library class.

Next week is HOMECOMING week! These are the dress up days for CL and DG and some events taking place during the week!

RLBMS Student Council is spreading school spirit downtown! Students took the lead by identifying local businesses, calling for permission, and painting their windows to get everyone excited for next week’s Homecoming. We love seeing our students take initiative and bring Hornet pride to the community!

Special thanks to the RLBMS Nature Club, who worked hard today planting bulbs and pulling weeds in front of the school to beautify our campus!

First grade had a fantastic day during Johnny Appleseed Day on Friday. Students were able to visit all first grade teachers for fun activities and we also made applesauce !

Students in Third Grade went on their first field trip on Friday to Leonard Harrison State Park. While there, students engaged in many activities and team building challenges such as a scavenger hunt and building beaver dams. They also learned about different landmarks and features throughout the park. This trip allowed the students a hands on experience to further assist them in answering that week’s ELA essential question: How do landmarks help us understand our country’s story? It also reinforced the theme of protecting our nation’s parks and wildlife.
